iRtv is a piece of software that allows you to listen to nearly all BBC radio programs and watch many BBC productions, plus a few more international channels. The interesting thing about this program is the selection of titles you can watch. You can view them by clicking on ‘station’ near the black headphone icon. The selection varies from BBC News to specific programs like Panorama, Newsnight and Click Online. Also available is the BBC’s archive which offers selection of very interesting documentaries. Apart from BBC content there is not much more to see for English speaking audiences as the other channels are from Latvia, Iran, Hungary, South Korea, Czech Republic, Turkey, Norway and Germany.
The application doesn't stand out for its default red interface, which is also confusing and not suitable for a TV player. Moreover it is neither intuitive nor elegant and it's impossible to resize the frame which is really annoying. An invasive banner is also present in the frame-mode view, but it disappears in the full-mode view which is available by simply clicking once on the video screen.
iRtv collects a good selection of BBC documentaries that you can watch outside the UK with good sound quality and a decent full-screen video resolution.
